Setup guide · works for any skill

Install a skill in about two minutes

The same simple steps work for every skill in the hub, no matter which department it's from. No technical knowledge needed.

Before you start

What you need

A paid Claude plan — Pro, Team, or Enterprise — with file creation turned on. That's it. If you can sign in to claude.ai and create documents, you're ready.

The main thing

Install a skill

Download it from the Hub

On the Skills Hub, find the skill you need and click Download. You'll get a .zip file — leave it zipped, don't open it.

Open Claude's skill settings

In claude.ai, go to Settings → Capabilities → Skills. (If asked, turn on file creation / code execution.)

Upload the file

Click Upload skill, choose the .zip you downloaded, and make sure it's toggled on.

Use it — just talk

Open a normal chat and describe your task in plain words (for example, "write a proposal for this job"). Claude picks the right skill automatically — you don't select it.

Each person installs to their own Claude account. That's normal — Claude doesn't share skills across accounts automatically. The Hub makes it self-serve, so anyone can do it in a couple of minutes.

Keeping current

Update a skill

The Hub always serves the latest version — every push to the repo rebuilds the downloads, and each card shows when it was last updated. To pick up an update, download the skill again and, in Settings → Skills, remove the old one and upload the new .zip.

If something's off

Troubleshooting

The skill didn't kick in

Say the action plainly ("screen these CVs", "triage this lead") and check it's toggled on in Settings.

No "Skills" in Settings

You're on a plan without Skills, or file creation is off. Use Pro, Team, or Enterprise and enable it.

A job link won't open

Some sites (LinkedIn, Indeed) block it. Just copy-paste the job text into the chat instead.

It produced no file

Skills that build a document need code execution / file creation turned on — check Settings.

It left blanks like [confirm]

That's on purpose — the skill couldn't verify something. Fill it in before sending anything out.

Still stuck?

Ask whoever maintains the Skills Hub at WeSoftYou — they can re-check or update the skill.

One more thing

Department-specific setup

A few skills need a one-time tweak for their team (for example, the Sales tools draw on WeSoftYou's case studies and pricing). Anything like that is already built in by the Hub maintainer — you don't need to configure anything to use them.
